The world is changing at an exponential pace, and its economy requires new types of thinkers that work collaboratively and co-create solutions using technology that is constantly evolving. Foundations is a program for children (grades 2-8) to introduce the big ideas of computing and the writing skills necessary to communicate with both people and technology.
Our society now requires that we have an open dialog with the tools that make our lives better. Understanding this new language takes patience and hard work. For those who understand, an entirely new world opens up for them.
We are creating a cohort of 12 students to join us on an adventure to explore the world of computing. Twelve sessions that invoke thought and contemplates our future. The sessions will run in 2 hour spurts where the first hour uses hands on activities to explore the main concepts. The second hour is an open lab where our students can dream and create projects.
Functions wield the power of computational magic.
